Duct-tape evangelists
March 8th, 2006
My friend Jonathan poses in front of his painting “Eating Pasta with a Zesty Red Sauce” for a series of deluxe red duct-tape wallet product shots. Actually, it’s made from Gaffer’s Tape, but he used the handy instructions on the 3M duct tape site.
You can too! Or, if you’re not handy, or just lazy, you can pay $15 and buy one. Octane Creative has instructions on how to build other duct-tape toys, and the paranoid can find out how to make an RFID-blocking duct-tape wallet.
Whatcha gonna do with duct tape? Almost anything. The astronauts used it on Apollo 17 and it’s standard NASA gear.
3M certainly has some duct-tape evangelists out there, and while the 3M duct-tape site is not exactly an encyclopedia of information, it does encourage participation, give people ideas, engage. Not like those ham-fisted networks.
